Private day trip from Athens New
Marathon & Thermopylae
Follow the Persian Wars from the burial mound at Marathon to the pass of Thermopylae. A full day for history lovers, in your own car.
10 hours · 3 stops · departs 08:00 · from €370 per car

About this day
Follow the story of the Persian Wars from one battlefield to the other. Your chauffeur first takes you to Marathon, where the burial mound of the Athenian dead still rises over the plain, and to the Marathon archaeological museum nearby.
Then the car heads north to Thermopylae, the pass where Leonidas and his 300 Spartans held back the Persian army. See the Leonidas monument, then visit the Thermopylae centre, whose exhibits bring the battle to life. There is time for lunch nearby. Please note that the Marathon sites are closed on Tuesdays.
Most of the day is spent on the road, and the car is yours alone: your chauffeur waits at every stop, then takes you back to Athens while you relax.
